Audiologists examine patients to diagnose and treat hearing, balance and related ear problems such as vertigo or dizziness. Using audiometers, computers, and other testing devices, they measure the loudness at which a person begins to
hear sounds, his/her ability to distinguish between sounds, and the impact of hearing loss or balance problems on an individual’s daily life.

Most Audiology jobs are in private clinics of physicians and audiologists; industrial rehab and research centers; in hospitals; and in outpatient care centers. Some jobs are in educational services, including elementary and secondary schools.
